Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Georgian Course application ("the service"). By creating an account or otherwise using the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the service, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old (or older if your local jurisdiction requires a higher minimum age for using online services), that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement, and that you accept and will comply with these Terms.
2. Description of Service
Georgian Course is a self-study application for learning the Georgian language. It provides structured lessons, interactive exercises, and a spaced-repetition system (FSRS) for reviewing vocabulary and grammar. The core service is provided free of charge. An optional one-time purchase, Ad-Free Premium, removes advertisements from the service for a one-time fee (see section 6 below).
3. User Accounts
When you create an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information during registration.
- Keep your account information up to date.
- Maintain the security of your password and your security question / answer. Do not share your password with anyone.
- Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account, whether or not you authorized them.
- Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
You may delete your account at any time from the Account page. Deletion is permanent and removes your progress, SRS state, and activity log.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service to cheat, exploit, or otherwise attempt to gain an unfair advantage over other users in any competitive or shared feature.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the service, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service or any related system or network, or breach any security or authentication measure.
- Use the service to harass, abuse, defame, threaten, or otherwise harm other users (where interactive features exist).
- Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other malicious code.
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
5. Intellectual Property
The course content — including lesson text, exercises, vocabulary lists, audio recordings, and any other material created by the project — is owned by the Georgian Course project (or its contributors) and is protected by copyright and other applicable laws. You may use the content for your own personal, non-commercial language learning.
You retain all rights to any data you generate through your use of the service (your progress, your answers, and any notes or content you add). You may export this data at any time from the Account page.
We do not claim any ownership over your personal data or learning content.
6. Purchases and Payments
Ad-Free Premium is an optional one-time purchase that removes advertisements from the service. It is a one-time fee of $15 and is delivered immediately upon completion of payment. All purchases are processed through Paddle, our payment provider.
Right of withdrawal. Under the Law of Georgia on the Protection of Consumer Rights, consumers have the right to withdraw from distance contracts within 14 days without giving any reason (Article 13). This right does not apply to digital content supplied electronically where performance began with the consumer's prior express consent and the consumer acknowledged that they would lose the right of withdrawal (Article 14(2)(m)). Ad-Free Premium is delivered immediately upon purchase; by completing the purchase you consent to immediate delivery and acknowledge the loss of your right of withdrawal.
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.
7. Merchant of Record
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
For paid products, the seller of record is Paddle.com Market Ltd (Ireland), and the contract of sale is between you and Paddle. Paddle handles customer service and returns for purchases; Paddle's contact details are provided at checkout and in its own terms and policies.
8. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms, that your continued use of the service poses a security or legal risk, or that we are required to do so by law. Where reasonable, we will give you a chance to address the issue before terminating.
You may stop using the service at any time and delete your account from the Account page.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that defects will be corrected.
Language-learning outcomes depend on many factors outside our control (your effort, prior knowledge, learning style, etc.). We do not guarantee any particular learning result.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operators of the service shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or use, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the service.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim — currently, at most, the one-time $15 Ad-Free Premium fee. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability limitations; in those cases the limitations above apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.
11. Governing Law
The operator is (or will be) an individual entrepreneur registered in Georgia. These Terms are governed by the laws of Georgia (the country), without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
Nothing in these Terms removes any statutory protection you have under the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify signed-in users through the application. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to a change, you may stop using the service and delete your account.
